Krishnamurti Study Workshops

Krishnamurti did not want his teaching to just remain in books and audio-video recordings. He wanted people to explore, discuss, question and test the truth of his teaching, so that it becomes part of their life. Any teaching, unless lived, remains merely as an information and therefore has very little significance. One cannot live the teaching unless one studies it experiments with it and understands it. One can study these teachings alone, all by oneself or one can learn by discussing them with similarly interested persons. Krishnamurti introduced dialogue as the way of learning where two or more persons come together and discuss the given issue or problem, share the notes and learn. It is very difficult to find people willing to discuss the teachings. But these study workshops give such an opportunity where people from different parts of the world come together to study. These meetings are called study workshops because one has to do a lot of work in order to study. It is the work without effort as Krishnamurti puts it.

At present these workshops are conducted online only, mostly in English and sometimes in Marathi and Hindi. Each workshop has its own theme which decides the content of study for that workshop. A circular is sent to interested persons who then have to register their names for the workshop. After registration each participant is sent the reading material, links for the Krishnamurti’s video recordings and the dialogue meeting links. After the workshop each participant is sent the links for the audio recordings of the dialogues so that he can listen to them again. These workshops are facilitated by Mr. Kishore Khairnar who talks for about forty-five minutes developing the theme and the remaining forty-five minutes, participants ask questions.

The theme for each workshop is based on Krishnamurti’s Teaching and the corresponding issues and problems in our daily life. However, if a group of twenty or more persons want a study workshop based on the themes, dates and languages of their choice (English, Marathi and Hindi only), it is possible to organise them. Various institutions can request for special workshops for their staff, e. g. educational institutions can have workshops for their students and staff based on Krishnamurti’s approach to education, parents can have workshops on right kind of parenting based on Krishnamurti’s Teaching, corporate companies can have workshop for their staff on the themes of self-development and change, artist can have workshops on creativity.
